Wednesday: I explained the directions and showed an example for the April/May book project. I gave each student a copy of the directions and the 9 puzzle pieces. The directions are also attached at the top of this page. The students had fun today tying their own version of Cobble's Knot.

Students created Wordles using ten important words from the play. Wednesday: We started a new short play, When Women Played Baseball. We discussed the vocabulary and the background summary. Students read it silently and tomorrow we will assign parts and perform it. Thursday: We discussed the play then the students were assigned parts and performed the play. Friday: Finished working with When Women Played Baseball. On Tuesday we will begin our new groups. 4th/5th will begin reading Hoot.

Tuesday: We read "The BFG" and "The Giants" and discussed how the Giant speaks. We started a "Giant Dictionary" which we will use to list the Giant's words and what we think they mean using context clues. We will continue this dictionary throughout the book.
Wednesday: Finished reading and discussing "The Giants" and answered questions.
Thursday: No homework
